From the Synod Moderator: Strong Anchor for Tumultuous Times
How is your HQ?
What is that? Well, we need "IQ" and "EQ", to succeed in life and work.
"HQ" is "Hope Quotient". We need "HQ" to survive and thrive in the face of turbulent seasons of life.
Hebrew 6:19-20, provides us an unshakeable hope and raises our "HQ" immeasurably,
"We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold, and where Jesus, our forerunner, has gone in before us. He is now and forever our royal Priest like Melchizedek." (TPT)
As the pandemic prolongs, the fallout continue to worsen, and there seems to be no end to the crisis, more than ever we need more "HQ". Some are hoping for a quick solution to the pandemic through the discovery of an effective vaccine, and a rapid recovery of life and economy. But is this all we can hope for? Is this a good and durable hope? With so much uncertainties, there need a more reliable foundation of hope.
Keep looking to the God of Hope. We need to return to the most reliable source of hope, and whose supply chain can never be disrupted - the GOD of HOPE.
"Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!" Rom 15:13 (TPT).
"When we say a situation or a person is hopeless, you are slamming the door in the face of God." Charles L. Allen
